About Manuel
I have been dedicated to complex origami since 2000. My favorite models are arthropods, mollusks, and other lower animals. I have published three books, and the Spanish Origami Association (AEP) published a special edition featuring some of my models. I have published diagrams of models in various magazines and international convention books. I have been invited to several origami conventions in Italy, Japan, France, and Korea (which I was unable to attend), as well as local conventions in Spain, specifically in Zaragoza and Barcelona. I have taught origami models in classes at these conventions. I particularly enjoy folding animals, insects, and other figurative origami. I greatly admire the new generation of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese origami artists; I believe they are advancing the techniques of origami creation immensely. My early influences in my creative process included John Montroll, Robert Lang, and the great Japanese masters Kamiya, Hojyo, Komatsu, Miyajima, Yamaguchi, Nishikawa, Kawahata, and surely others.
