About Riccardo
Riccardo Foschi is an adjunct professor and RTT at the University of Bologna. He graduated in architecture and specialized in digital visualization.
He is also an origami enthusiast, so much so that his passion led him to explore parametric modeling of origami for architecture, furniture, and manufacturing during his PhD, conducted between Bologna and Tokyo.
Naturally curious, he is particularly drawn to unusual and unexpected things. He loves traveling, even though he doesn’t enjoy flying; however, he believes that the best memories are made far from home, so he tries not to think about his fears when traveling.
He began folding origami in primary school, or perhaps even earlier, thanks to his mother, who asked him to test the models she planned to teach her students. After some ups and downs in the following years, he resumed folding more consistently in 2014, when he started designing his own original models. Since then, he has continued creating origami, seeing each new model as an opportunity to learn and share something new.
