Sampreet Manna

My name is Sampreet Manna, and I'm an Indian origami enthusiast, designer, and author based in Kolkata. I'm a self-taught artist whose journey in paper folding began when I was 12 years old. That early interest has blossomed into a passion for designing intricate, life-like models, especially animals and birds.

My fascination started with the science and mathematics hidden behind paper folding. Today, I specialise in creating complex, realistic animal figures. I use both circle-packed designs and box-pleated models, often relying on precise 22.5° designs in my work.

I enjoy sharing my passion with the global community of paper folders. You can find tutorials and diagrams of my original designs on my popular YouTube channel, Sampreet Manna Origami, and my **Instagram account. I'm also a co-founder of Kagazee India, a publisher of Indian origami magazines.

My Book: "Origami Life: Wings & Tails"

In 2025, I realised a lifelong dream by publishing my first book, "Origami Life: Wings & Tails". This book was the culmination of three years of dedicated work and features over 16 of my original animal and bird designs. Inside, I've included detailed diagrams and a discussion of my design theories.

I mainly use Inkscape to draw origami vector diagrams.
