Star Ring
In 2025, I submitted my Star Plate series, exploring various combinations of a hexagram-based fractal structure. Despite the many possible arrangements, the individual units were fundamentally confined to straight lines and could not be arranged along curves.
Fortunately, in 2026, I finally unraveled the underlying generative logic of these units. By arranging 24 of them along a circular path, I created the first version of Star Ring. Taking this idea a step further, I combined two circular arrangements into a form resembling the mathematical infinity symbol, giving rise to the second version, Star Ring ∞.
Once again, I find myself amazed by the seemingly limitless possibilities hidden within a single geometric structure. Looking ahead to 2027, I hope to complete Star Plate series II, a new tessellation series composed entirely of curvilinear arrangements of the units.
