Magpie, by Roman Kruzliak

The original design of this magpie immediately captivated me. During the shaping process, I found the head and chest failed to meet my expectations, mainly because the stylized head clashed with the realistic aesthetic of the hind body. I therefore made extensive adjustments to the head and chest: after studying numerous photos of real magpies, I reworked the existing paper layers to achieve the current effect. The thick, substantial paper layers of Yukogami provide perfect support for this piece, which is almost the exact size of a real magpie.
