The Breath Between Folds

Origami still impresses us, but does it amaze us anymore?
In recent years our art has reached new heights of complexity and realism. We look, admire, click “like”... and move on. The spectacle remains, yet the magic has faded.

For me, that magic returned when I discovered Monica Gao’s folds. In her hands, paper does not simply hold a shape, it seems to breathe. Each model carries an invisible breath, turning a figure into a presence.

"The Breath Between Folds" was born from this shock of beauty. It is not a diagram book nor a manual. It is an art photo book, dedicated entirely to Monica’s interpretations. Page after page, light, paper and intention merge until only emotion remains.
